SK Food Group knows that its people are its most valuable asset. That’s why we have a “people-first” philosophy that aims to provide opportunities for our more than 2,000 SK Associates to support their families and personally grow. From diversity, equity, and inclusion programs to ESG initiatives to promoting from within, we are committed to investing in our people and our communities.

With over 2,000 Associates located across the nation, it’s imperative for us to stay rooted and connected. We have four core values that drive SK Food Group and its Associates to do things in “The SK Way”:
  • Woman with thumbs up on the line at SK Food Group facilityWe care
  • Do the right thing
  • Deliver as promised
  • Whatever it takes

We are living the value, Do the Right Thing, by advancing racial and social equity through initiatives like our Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council, which provides feedback and recommendations to the company to ensure equal access for professional growth and advancement. From requiring the representation of diverse candidates for open positions to building an inclusive environment for SK Associates, we’re constantly pushing ourselves to create an even more diverse and equitable workplace.

Our Associates have high job satisfaction, and as a result, SK has higher than average retention rates. We strongly believe in promoting from within the company, and many of our Associates have moved up from the production floor into key management roles.

“If an Associate stays for a year, they tend to stay for a long time.”
– Betsy Lugo, Human Resources Manager

Visit any one of our facilities and you’ll see and hear just how multicultural SK Associates are. We love the variety of languages that are spoken in our facilities—Spanish, Burmese, Nepali, French, Hindi, Hmong, Somali, Vietnamese, Swahili, and English are just a few that you’ll hear. We also offer free English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to Associates who want to improve their English.

SK Food Group also pursues environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives that have a positive impact on the environment, our Associates, and the communities where we operate. A few of the initiatives we invest in are reducing our carbon emissions, food waste, water consumption, and plastic waste and packaging;  sustainable and ethical sourcing; and promoting food security in our local communities.

We invest in our people. From generous medical benefits to bonus programs and regular raises, it’s important to us that our Associates and their families are healthy and financially secure. Our “people-first” philosophy is the key to SK’s continued growth and success.
