Answering a global call to action from the production floor
We are proud to be a company of many countries and voices. If you walked into one of our facilities today, you might hear 20 languages spoken by our Associates, many of whom are first-generation immigrants or refugees representing nearly 40 countries.
This diversity has given us a global perspective, so when it came to setting and reporting on our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) activities, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, not only provided an internationally recognized framework for our ESG goals, but also aligned with our vision of “One Team No Borders”.
In 2015, the United Nations adopted the SDGs as part of the 2030 Agenda. Also known as the Global Goals, they are an urgent call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and create a peaceful and prosperous world for all by 2030. The SDGs include 17 goals and 169 targets that, when backed by action, set us on a path to greater equality and social, economic and environmental sustainability.

Seven years ago, all 193 UN Member States agreed to try to make the SDGs a reality by 2030, and this commitment has rippled across societies, with companies, schools and communities joining the effort. Now at the halfway point, we still have a lot of work ahead. Achieving the SDGs is truly a global project, requiring the talent, energy, know-how and financial investment of every country and community.
This includes SK Food Group. We assemble millions of meals a day, so we focus on the SDGs that aim to end hunger, promote responsible consumption and production and support decent work and economic growth. As you can see, we tie these bigger goals to practical, everyday actions that help us do our part.
The SDGs are for everyone. Like our ESG activities, they enable people to reach their full potential and live in a world where economic opportunity, social equality and environmental responsibility can co-exist. For us, the SDGs are not a task or a checklist, but a blueprint for a better world and a benchmark for our ESG efforts.
