Our Diversity Is Our Strength

From our production floor to the global level, we can build better lives in our diversity.

Held every year on May 21st, the UN World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development celebrates the richness of the world’s cultures and the potential of intercultural dialogue to advance peace and sustainable development.

This day resonates with us at SK Food Group. As a culturally diverse organization represented by almost 40 countries and multiple languages, we understand the power of many voices to create a stronger and more collaborative environment. Our diverse experiences and perspectives are truly one of our greatest assets, as they open our minds to new and better ways of serving our customers, Associates and communities.

“On this Day, UNESCO would like to call upon everyone to celebrate cultural diversity, through which we will be able to build the intellectual and moral solidarity of humankind.”
— Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO

Dialogue is an important part of this UN World Day, and we can attest that cultural diversity advances conversation and collaboration. Our Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council (DIAC) is a group of Associates and senior leaders who work closely to advance our diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals, such as bolstering diversity and creating opportunities at different levels of the company. The Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer of SK Food Group reports directly to our CEO and leads our efforts to align our DEI goals with business outcomes.

Cultural diversity is also a driving force of development, from our local communities to the global level. Not only have we seen that diverse cultural perspectives and experiences contribute to economic growth and healthier societies, but they are also a source of enormous creative potential and good ideas on the production floor.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide an internationally recognized framework for our environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts. They are also a way for everyone in SK Food Group to make their voices heard on environmentally responsible production, ending hunger in our communities and promoting a safe and inclusive workplace.

By drawing on the creativity and best ideas of our diverse team–and keeping our dialogue going–we are seeing the richness and potential of cultural diversity in action.
