Jackie Dettling is a Payroll Supervisor who is one of the original pioneers of SK Food Group. She’s worked with SK Food Group since May of 2003. We asked Jackie a few questions about her work with SK and what she enjoys most.
What is your favorite thing about working at SK Food Group?
JD: My main favorite thing about working at SK Food Group is having a front seat of watching one person’s vision come to fruition with the evolution of SK Food Group (formerly known as Stovers Kitchens). What the company was when I started in 2003, a mobile catering company in Seattle, Washington with 75 – 80 associates on staff, to current day in 2023 now employing 1600+ associates, with 3 plants and a 4th plant currently in the works. Adding to that under the SK Food Group umbrella, 5 sister companies across the U.S and in Canada, it is truly awe inspiring to have seen this unfold into what it has in the time I have been here.
Why do you think people should join the SK family?
JD: SK Food Group has grown so much in the 20 years I have been here and is continuing to grow. The benefits offered to our associates are unheard of in todays work force in the U.S.
What do you look forward to most in your day?
JD: The one constant I look forward to most each day is working with my team in payroll. Each member of the team brings something different to the table. Each with different levels of experience in their payroll journey. I have learned and continue to learn new things on a weekly basis from each of them. Whereas there may be times I see the glass half empty, they encourage and support me to see the glass as half full. Each member of the payroll team helps me be the best version of myself each day.
