How We Source Our Products

SK Food Group sources a variety of food products from domestic and international sources for both our private label products and the items we create in partnership with our co-manufacturing clients. We work across the SK Food Group supply chain to meet our collective goals for ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients.

The foundation of our supplier partnerships is guided by our values and is formalized in our Supplier Code of Conduct and Supplier Manual. These documents outline the expectations we set for responsible and ethical sourcing, as well as our suppliers’ commitments to safe, reliable ingredients for all our products.

“Many of our suppliers have their own ESG goals as well, like a farmer we work with who is able to capture 75% of the water they use in processing. We are learning from each other and innovating around challenges.

Our Supplier Compliance system enables us to work together effectively and efficiently through an online, easily accessible partner portal. We collaborate with our partners to ensure all touchpoints along our supply chain follow ethical processes, are appropriately certified, comply with industry best practices and regulations and animal welfare standards.

Animal Welfare

We support the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare, including:
1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
2. Freedom from discomfort
3. Freedom from pain, injury, or disease
4. Freedom to express normal behavior
5. Freedom from fear and distress

Our suppliers are required to maintain written programs to ensure that animal protein, or byproducts, are compliant with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and to provide a letter of compliance upon request.

By sourcing our ingredients are sourced in an ethical manner, we can take even more pride in the products we produce. We set the bar high and are constantly working to raise it even higher. That’s the “SK Way”!
